Improve your download performance
September 5th, 2008 by datacraftusThe best way to test your download performance is trial and error. Test the download speed by downloading a large file. Usually a movie file works because it is the biggest. After you test the movie download performance, you have an idea of which frames may be causing your movie download to slow down. You can delete these frames or edit them to reduce the image size. You can also think about changing the file format.
If you need help in pin pointing the specific frames that need to be tweaked, you can generate a report from your server’s control panel. It is usually helpful to run two different tests. Generate two different reports so that you can compare the two reports and determine where the problem is. Locating the problem file can make it easy to fix the download problem.
